I have over two decades of experience working in the Scottish winter mountains, including numerous Winter Mountain Leader training and assessment courses for various providers during that time. This course has no set content; it is entirely up to you! If you are planning or have already scheduled an assessment, I recommend going through the Winter Mountain Leader Skills check list at the link below. This will help highlight some of the areas in the Syllabus that you may need to refresh. This is a two-day course that allows candidates to refresh on some of the main areas of the syllabus, such as Navigation and Security on Steep Ground, as well as ask questions about the assessment process and gain top tips. This course may also be helpful as CPD if you are already a WML but have not worked much since passing or you passed the assessment some time ago. This course will be based in and around the Cairngorms.
